What is so special about this 3 wavelength laser?
In the field of permanent hair removal, there are numerous different methods, or rather, terms. In reality, there aren't that many different methods, but the manufacturers naturally come up with the coolest names, making everything sound complicated and high-tech. It's enough to make you dizzy...
At least that's how it was for us, and if it weren't for Corona, we might not have had the time to delve so deeply into the matter.
But now we had time and could fight our way through the whole jungle of manufacturer promises and technical knowledge:
You want to know what is so special about the laser we use?
Well, the Hair TA ICE ³ Imperia - 3 wavelength diode laser model 2022 (fancy, right?) is the very latest generation of 3 wavelength lasers.
Here are the advantages in advance:
Suitable for tanned skin
Suitable for fine and light hair
98% pain-free treatment
Fast and time-saving
Even more effective and gentle on the skin
No risk of burns
Improved cooling system
High efficiency and speed
But what exactly is a 3-wavelength laser?
The terms IPL and diode laser or SHR are familiar to anyone who has done a bit of research.
By the way, SHR is just an umbrella term. It's called "Super Hair Removal "... This can be used to describe virtually all permanent hair removal methods.
Now, everyone who has dealt with hair removal has probably heard of IPL:
IPL = Intense Pulsed Light (intense pulsating light)
This technology works with pure, unfocused light.
Short pulses are emitted and you stamp yourself with the device, piece by piece, over the skin surface.
IPL requires the melanin (pigment) in the hair, which conducts the energy.
It essentially directs the light to the hair follicle, where the energy accumulates and it gets hot… very hot. 65 to 72 degrees! This then leads to the destruction of the hair root.
Unfortunately, this only really works well with dark hair on light skin.
It's also really hot, and the "stamping" (that is, the brief contact with the skin) makes it quite uncomfortable. So, it's more for those who are really tough.
The risk of burns is also higher here, although we assume that all service providers know what they're doing...
Then we have all the SHR lasers.
They work with concentrated light. Although they use less energy, they are focused on specific areas.
Instead of 'stamping,' the hair is repeatedly glided over the skin (called in-motion ), because the goal here is to heat the protein in the root to just 45 degrees Celsius , thus destroying it. The hair root can then no longer receive nutrients, and it dies and falls out.
However, it depends on the wavelength of the laser:
Depending on the wavelength of the diode laser, the heat can only penetrate certain layers of the skin and 'attack' the proteins in the root.
Depending on skin and hair color and also texture (thick skin, thin skin, thick hair, etc…)
But the roots are located at different depths in the skin. And that's been the problem so far!
Different lasers with different wavelengths have been around for a long time:
the diode laser 808 nm wavelength
(Medium penetration depth)
the neodymium Yag laser 1064 nm
(High penetration depth; for darker skin and deep-lying hair)
and Alexandrite 755 nm
(Low penetration depth; For fine and light hair)
In Germany, the so-called diode laser , which has a wavelength of 808 nm, is primarily used. Unfortunately, this wavelength is also primarily aimed at dark hair on light skin.
But since such a laser also costs a bit, most service providers opt for the classic diode laser with its medium penetration depth, which serves the general public.
But here comes the thing!
Since last year, these three technologies have been combined in one handpiece!
Yes, exactly, all three wavelengths! This means this technique is suitable for all skin and hair types.
(except for white hair! That simply never works... the wavelength laser also needs a minimum amount of dye)
Here, as in the past, the diode laser is repeatedly passed over the skin until it begins to become a little irritated, the only difference being that the results are better.
And we at Tigerlily even have the very latest generation of 3 wavelength lasers!!!
the Hair TA ICE ³ Imperia - 3 wavelength diode laser model 2022 On top of that, it has almost twice as much oomph.
3000 watts instead of 1600 watts , which means you only have to pass it over one or two times per area of skin and the treatment is complete. It's much faster, the skin is barely reddened (because you don't have to irritate it too much), and the result is still the same.
And this will interest the wimps among you: not only has the laser been upgraded, but the cooling system has too! This means the handpiece can cool down to -15 degrees Celsius at the same time.
That really makes the whole thing bearable!
In any case, we are absolutely thrilled with this awesome laser and hope that it will convince you too!
